Career
Career start in Sweden
Sana started playing football at Marieholms BOIK before moving to the youth department at Västra Frölunda IF . From there he moved on to local rivals Qviding FIF , for whom he made his debut in the Superettan in 2008 . When he was promoted to the second division, he played 22 games this season and scored two goals. The young player then moved to IFK Gothenburg , where he signed a contract that ran until the end of 2012. At the beginning of the first division season in 2009 he made his debut in the Allsvenskan , but could not earn a regular place. In the summer he returned to his previous game station after five first division games due to a clause in his loan contract and played seven games for Qviding FIF until the end of the season, but the club missed relegation in the second division.
After his return to IFK Gothenburg Sana was first under the coaching duo Jonas Olsson and Stefan Rehn only continue to substitute players in the first division team before he on the side of Ragnar Sigurðsson , Tobias Hysén , Andreas Drugge and Karl Svensson at the beginning of the season 2011 a Fought for a regular place. By the end of the season he was used in 26 games and reached seventh place in the table with the team. Even after a coaching change - Mikael Stahre took over at the turn of the year - he was largely part of the regular formation in the first half of the 2012 season, although he slipped into the relegation battle with the club. In April, the Burkina Faso Association announced its interest in Sana playing for the Burkinabe national team. The player said he was flattered but not worried about the national team. In addition, the son of a Burkinabe did not have a passport at that time.
Moving abroad and jumping into the national team
On August 1, 2012, Frank de Boer introduced Sana as a new addition to the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam , where Sana's role models Patrick Kluivert and Zlatan Ibrahimović had already played, and attended the signing of a three-year contract. While Sana made her debut in the Eredivisie almost two weeks later as a substitute for Lasse Schøne in the 2-2 draw against AZ Alkmaar for the club , he crowned his first appearance in the starting line-up on matchday two with two goals in a 6-1 away win at NEC Nijmegen . As a regular on the right wing, he also played for the club in the UEFA Champions League , his first game in this competition he played on the occasion of a 0-1 away defeat at German champions Borussia Dortmund .
Sana's good performances in the Netherlands led him into the circle of the Swedish national team. When he was appointed, the press emphasized that he had not made his way through one of the Swedish junior national teams to the senior national team. Under national coach Erik Hamrén he made his debut on October 16, 2012 in the World Cup qualifier against Germany , when he came on in the 78th minute of the game at a score of 3: 4 to strengthen the offensive - Sweden had caught up with a 0: 4 deficit witnessed Rasmus Elm's equalizer in stoppage time .
