Lasse Schöne (alternative spelling Schøne ; born May 27, 1986 ) is a Danish football player in the service of the Italian first division club CFC Genoa . The midfielder has played in the Netherlands since his youth and was under contract with Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie from 2012 to 2019 . With the Danish senior team , he took part in the 2012 European Championship and the 2018 World Championship .

Career

Beginnings in Denmark and the Netherlands

Schöne, who was a fan of FC Copenhagen as a child , was born in the suburbs of Copenhagen , around a quarter of an hour's drive from the city center, and grew up in Roskilde in the Sjælland region . Via Taastrup B70 he joined the youth teams of Lyngby BK . In 2002 he moved to the SC Heerenveen youth academy in the Netherlands , where he stayed with a host family and quickly learned the Dutch language .

In 2006 Schöne moved to BV De Graafschap from Doetinchem in the Eerste Divisie , the second division. In his first year with the club from the Achterhoek in the province of Gelderland , he rose to the Eredivisie. On August 18, 2007 he made his debut in the Dutch House of Lords in the 8-1 defeat on the first day of the Eredivisie season 2007/08 . On October 19, 2007 Schöne scored his first goal in the Eredivisie when he scored the 1-0 goal in the 4-0 win on matchday eight against Sparta Rotterdam . He came to 34 missions this season and gave six assists and scored seven goals himself.

NEC Nijmegen

After two years in Doetinchem Schöne moved to the NEC in the provincial capital Nijmegen , for whom he made his debut on August 30, 2008 under coach Mario Been in a game against his former club De Graafschap. In the 2011/12 season Schöne played again in all the league games, giving four assists and scoring eleven goals.

Ajax Amsterdam

In April 2012, Ajax signed Amsterdam Schöne for the 2012/13 season free of charge for an initial three seasons.

2012/13

On August 5, 2012, Lasse Schöne made his debut for Ajax Amsterdam by substituting for his compatriot Viktor Fischer in the 2-0 defeat in the final of the Johan Cruyff Cup , the Dutch Super Cup competition, against PSV Eindhoven . Seven days later he made his debut at 2-2 on the first match day against AZ Alkmaar for the Amsterdam team in the league game ; he was in the starting line-up. In the 2-1 defeat in the group game in the UEFA Champions League on October 22, 2013 against Celtic Glasgow , he scored his first goal in the competition in stoppage time. Schöne was featured in all six games in the Champions League, with third place again, similar to the previous season. In the UEFA Europa League , Ajax Amsterdam were eliminated in the round of 32 against FC Red Bull Salzburg . At the end of the season stood the renewed win of the Dutch championship. 2014/15

Career end in Italy

After seven years and as the longest-serving professional at Ajax Amsterdam (287 competitive games, 64 goals), the Dane joined CFC Genoa in August 2019 .

National team

Schöne started his international career in the Danish U16s in August 2001. He played for U17 and U18 national teams from July 2002 to March 2004. He made his debut for the U21s in March 2007.

On August 12, 2009 Schöne played for the first time for the Danish national team in a friendly against Chile in Brøndby and scored his first international goal. In qualifying for the European Championship finals in 2012 in Poland and Ukraine , he came to a use and scored a goal; he was nominated by coach Morten Olsen in the Danish squad for the finals .
