Jan August Erlingmark (born April 22, 1998 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish football player who is under contract with the first division club IFK Göteborg . The defensive midfielder has been the Swedish international since January 2020 .

Career

August Erlingmark, who was born in Gothenburg , began his football training at Sävedalens IF, from where he joined the youth team at IFK Göteborg in January 2015 after ten years . For the 2017 game year he was promoted to the first team of the first division club . He made his debut on February 26, 2017 in a 6-0 cup win against the lower class Arameiska / Syrianska Botkyrka IF , when he came on for Martin Smedberg in the 88th minute . On March 14, 2018, he signed a long-term contract with IFK Göteborg and at the end of May 2017, Erlingmark established himself in the starting line-up under head coach Jörgen Lennartsson . On July 30 (17th matchday) he scored his first league goal in a 4-1 home win against IFK Norrköping . That season he scored three goals in 19 league games. In the following season, 2018 , he was regularly used in the starting line-up and played 21 league games in which he scored one goal and one assist. The defensive midfielder finally made it back to the starting line-up in the 2019 season , but remained in 27 league appearances without a goal participation.

National team

In October 2016, August Erlingmark played two international matches for the Swedish U19 national team . In October 2017 and October 2018 he was used in four U20 league games . In October and November 2019 he played three times for the U21s , in which he scored one goal and two assists.

On January 12, 2020, Erlingmark made his debut in a 1-0 friendly win against Kosovo in the Swedish national team .

Erlingmark is the son of former Swedish national player Magnus Erlingmark , who played for IFK Göteborg for over ten years.
