Katrin Mettler (* 1969 in Basel ) is a Swiss cellist and music teacher .

Life

Katrin Mettler grew up in Affoltern am Albis and received her first cello lessons in Hausen am Albis . After graduating from high school , she began to study the cello at the Lucerne Conservatory in 1989 , where she received her teaching diploma in 1994 and the concert readiness diploma in 1996 with distinction. She obtained her soloist diploma in 1999 from her future husband Peter Leisegang, among others .

She has been teaching a cello class at the Knonauer Amt music school since 1993, and heads the Chamber Music Days and the annual talent stage. She was a juror in several Swiss music competitions .

She was a member and soloist of the Festival Strings Lucerne from 1995 to 2000, has been a member of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich since 1996 and has appeared as a soloist with various orchestral companies in Switzerland and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra . She performs in the cello duo with her husband Peter Leisegang , with whom she has four sons.
