Kazimieras Uoka (born March 4, 1951 in Kaunas ; † July 16, 2016 ) was a Lithuanian politician and member of the Seimas .

Life

After graduating from high school in Kaunas in 1969, Uoka did compulsory service in the Soviet Army in Russia from 1969 to 1971 . From 1971 to 1988 he worked as an excavator and bulldozer driver in the mechanization of agriculture and in construction remnants in Kaunas. 1976 graduated Uoka the diploma study of history at the University of Vilnius . In 1989 he became a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union . From 1991 to 1992 he was State Controller of the Court of Auditors and from 1991 to 2012 a member of the Seimas.

From 1988 Uoka was a member of the national movement Sąjūdis and Sąjūdis city council member in Kaunas. In 1988 he founded the Lithuanian Workers' Union ( Lietuvos darbininkų sąjunga ) and was its director until 1991. From 1989 Uoka was a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija (LSDP), from 2001 the Nacionaldemokratų partija (until 2002 leader), from 2004 to 2008 a member of the Lietuvių tautininkų sąjunga , then the TS-LKD . From 1989 he was a member of the Lithuanian Green Movement.

Uoka was divorced. He had a daughter and a son.
