Kazimierz Zarankiewicz
Kazimierz Zarankiewicz (born May 2, 1902 in Częstochowa , † September 5, 1959 in London ) was a Polish mathematician . His main interests were topology , complex numbers, and number theory .
He studied at Warsaw University with such well-known mathematicians as Zygmunt Janiszewski , Mazurkiewicz , Sierpiński , Kuratowski and Stanisław Saks . During the Second World War he was deported to a concentration camp for attending the underground university. From 1957 he was Vice President of the International Astronautical Federation .
