Kazinform is the Kazakh national news agency headquartered in Nur-Sultan . It was founded in 1920 . The focus of the reporting is on news from Kazakhstan as well as Europe and Asia .

history

Until 1925 the news agency was called Orenburg-Turgay Department of ROST. It was then renamed KazROST until it was renamed KazTAG in 1937. Another renaming on the orders of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev followed in 1997 in KazAAG. In 2002 the Kazakh government decided to give it the name Kazinform. The news agency has been part of the Arna-Media holding company since 2008.
