The conical crack fungus ( Pseudosperma rimosum syn .: Inocybe rimosa , I. fastigiata ) is a type of fungus from the family of crack fungus relatives .

features

The hat is pointed or has a more rounded apex. In young specimens in particular, there are transient cortina-like remains of velum on the edge. In addition, the hat is cracked in the radial direction, has a diameter of 2 to 6 centimeters and is very variable in color, straw-ocher, ocher-brown or darker brown. The lamellas initially have a light shade of gray and turn a dirty olive-brown color as they mature. They are crowded and have grown to be fully booked. The stem is whitish to brownish in color and lighter than the hat. Its surface is fibrous and flaky.

The smell is more or less clearly spermatic. The taste is insignificant. The spore powder is brown. The spores are 10 to 14 (rarely up to 18) × 6.5 to 8 micrometers in size, elliptical-almond-shaped and smooth. The size varies a lot. The cheilocystids are club-shaped, thin-walled and have no crystals.

Occurrence

The conical crack fungus grows in deciduous and coniferous forests as well as in parks and on roadsides. It is common and can be found from June to October.

Toxicity

The mushroom contains muscarin . Poisoning by the conical crack fungus is noticeable through sweating and severe abdominal colic.
