Kei Toume ( Japanese 冬 目 景 , Tōme Kei ; * April 13, 1970 ) is a Japanese mangaka .

After graduating from the same art school as Hiroaki Samura , who became known for his manga Blade of the Immortal , she published her debut work as a manga artist in 1992 with a short story called Rokujō Gekijō . This was published in the Japanese manga magazine Comic Burger . For this magazine she created among other shorter manganese among others, the series Lament of the Lamb , in an anime - OVA was filmed as well as in a movie with real actors. The story, described by critics as a successful mix of tension, melancholy and a touch of horror, is about a young person who has to recognize that he suffers from an illness that brings him vampire-like properties.

She achieved further success with the samurai comic Kurogane and the slowly developing relationship drama Sing “Yesterday” for Me . All of these works appeared in his magazines, that is, for adult men. She is one of the few women who was able to successfully establish herself in this genre.

She is considered an artist with a sketchy but still perfected drawing style. Since this knows how to please her readers, she published three art books with illustrations. However, she often works on several manga series at the same time. For this reason, these often do not have a regular rhythm of publication or individual chapters appear at intervals of several months.
