Hiroaki Samura

Hiroaki Samura ( Jap. 沙村広明 , Samura Hiroaki * 17th February 1970 in Chiba Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist who through his - Manga Blade of the Immortal famous nationally.

Life

Hiroaki Samura is not married and has a sister. After studying at the same art school as Kei Toume ( The Song of the Lambs ), he entered a competition organized by the manga magazine Afternoon . In 1993 he made his debut as a manga artist with his first and most successful series Blade of the Immortal . While Blade of the Immortal is a serious manga about samurais , the Ohikkoshi short story collection tells stories set in a modern era. He also recorded several short stories for the alternative magazine Manga Erotics F . In addition to drawing manga, he works as an illustrator.

Samura believes that his readers don't need to know much about him, because it's about art, not the artist.

In 1997 he received the Media Arts Award for Blade of the Immortal .
