Keith Elliott Hedley Morris

Sir Keith Elliott Hedley Morris KBE CMG (* 1934 ) is a former British diplomat .

Life

Keith Morris studied at Cambridge University and Amherst College , Massachusetts. He joined the foreign service in 1959 and was accredited in Dakar, Algiers and Bogotá from 1967 to 1971. From 1967 to 1971 he was accredited in Warsaw, Milan and 1983 in Mexico. Keith Morris graduated from the Royal College of Defense Studies in 1986.

In 1996 Sir Keith Morris was involved in the founding of the British Colombian Chamber of Commerce, chaired it and was director of this institution from 1999. From 1995 to 200, Morris researched as a fellow at the Institute for Latin American Studies, London. He sits on the boards of the Parra, Rodriguez, Cavelier law firm and the International Council on Security and Development . Keith Morris is married to María del Carmen Morris. He is well known for his departure from the position of combating the narcotics trafficking with military means and his commitment to the legalization of drugs .

During his stays in Colombia, he was able to experience how the cultivation of the coca plant for local consumption developed into Colombia's top-selling export industry.
