The Kelp Bay is a small bay on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located immediately east-southeast of Doris Bay .
The bay is named after a dense kelp forest , which makes it out of the question as an anchorage. The South Georgia Survey reported, based on surveys of the bay it conducted between 1951 and 1952, that its name is long established.
