from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Celtic Road connects the most famous archaeological sites from the time of the Celts in Hesse. It was founded in May 2002 and opened with a festive ceremony on Glauberg . It is one of the tourist routes in Germany and is supported by the districts of Wetterau , Hochtaunus and Gießen . The places that the route connects include the hilltop settlement and the burial mound area on Glauberg with the museum and research center Keltenwelt am Glauberg , the Heidetränk oppidum near Oberursel , the salt pans of Bad Nauheim , the oppidum of the Dünsberg , the ramparts of Butzbach , the Alteburg near Biebergemünd and the sandstone quarries near Büdingen . Other places are to follow.

The Celtic Road is marked by a green symbol, the right side of which is adorned with an image of the Celtic statue from Glauberg.

When the KeltenWelten association was founded on November 17, 2006, the project was given a more binding framework.
