Kemal Turkler

Kemal Türkler (* 1926 in Denizli ; † July 22, 1980 in Istanbul ) was a socialist trade union leader in Turkey . He was the founder and first president of the trade union federation Türkiye Devrimci İşçi Sendikaları Konfederasyonu ( DİSK ) and also one of the founders of the Turkish Labor Party ( Türkiye İşçi Partisi , TİP).

Kemal worked as a metal worker for a long time. He later became president of the Türkiye Maden-Iş . He had a leading role in the democratic trade union movement in Turkey.

Kemal Türkler was murdered in front of his home in Merter , Istanbul on July 22, 1980 .
