Ken Roczen
Ken Roczen (born April 29, 1994 in Mattstedt ) is a German motocross driver .
life and career
Ken Roczen sat on a cross motorcycle for the first time when he was two and a half years old, and when he was three he started racing. He was the winner of the DJFM championships in 2000 and 2001, winner of the ADAC MX Junior Cup in 2006, vice world champion at the 2006 Junior World Championships, 2007 World Junior World Champion.
From 2009 Ken Roczen drove for Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 in the 250 cc class of the MX-2 World Championship. Since he only reached the minimum age of 15 in April, he was not allowed to participate in the first four races. But he won the “Grand Prix of Germany” and finally came fifth in the world championship. After Kornel Nemeth 's German championship title was revoked, Ken Roczen was subsequently declared international German motocross champion.
In 2009 Roczen won the Supercross in the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund and was “Prince of Dortmund” in the SX 2 class.
In the 2010 season, Roczen secured second place in the overall MX2 championship with ten race wins.
Ken Roczen has been driving for the Red Bull Teka KTM Factory Racing MX2 team since the 2011 season. In the same season he became Motocross World Champion in the MX2 class. He was the first German world champion in motocross sport since 1968, when Paul Friedrichs from the former GDR took the title in the 500 cc class. He was also the youngest motocross world champion to date.
On October 14, 2011 he was made the first honorary citizen of his home parish Mattstedt .
After winning the world championship, he moved to the USA for the 2012 season, where he participated in the US Supercross Lites East Coast Championship. He finished in 2nd place. He then competed in the outdoor season. He finished fourth and best European. In 2013 Roczen won the US West Coast Championship in the 250SX class. In 2014 he won the Nationals in the rookie season of the big 450s.
Roczen returned to Suzuki for the 2015 season and finished second in the 450MX Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship (US Outdoors).
2016 joined Roczen with the title of Outdoor Nationals of 450cc class to Honda .
On November 2, 2018, Courtney Savage's wedding took place.
