Kendi Oiwa

Kendi Oiwa or Kenzi Oiwa ( Japanese 大 岩 ケ ン ヂ , Ōiwa Kenji ; * 1978 in Gunma Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese manga artist .

Life

His editor found him drenched on the street near Ochanomizu and bought him a coffee. He then worked for the Kadokawa-Shoten publishing house. His debut work was the promotional manga Step and Step for the game Tokimeki Memorial 3 in the manga magazine Shōnen Ace 3/2002, for which Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and CLAMP also worked. In 2003, Goth was his first ongoing series. Goth , which is about a young outsider who is fascinated by the hand of a classmate, is a version of the bestselling novel of the same name by Otsuichi and was also published in German translation by Egmont Manga and Anime in June 2004 . From 2004 to June 2007 Oiwa worked on NHK ni Yōkoso! based on a series of novels by Tatsuhiko Takimoto and was very successful in Japan. The manga about a Hikikomori was implemented as an anime series by the animation studio GONZO .

The draftsman has been married to Mangaka SAA since 2004.
