Kenji Wakai ( Japanese 若 井 研 治 , Wakai Kenji ; born September 22, 1974 in Hiroshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
Wakai learned to play soccer on the school team at Fuchu High School and the university team at Tsukuba University . He signed his first contract in 1997 with Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . At the end of 1997 he ended his career as a football player.
