Kenji Yamamoto ( Japanese 山 本 健 二 , Yamamoto Kenji ; born August 28, 1965 in Yamanashi Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .
Career
Yamamoto learned to play football on the school team at Nirasaki High School and the university team at Komazawa University . He signed his first contract with Furukawa Electric in 1988 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . In 1990 he reached the final of the JSL Cup . With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Furukawa Electric became JEF United Ichihara . For the club, he completed 53 top division games. In 1993 he moved to the second division NTT Kanto . In 1994 he returned to JEF United Ichihara . For the club he completed 29 first division games. At the end of 1995 he ended his career as a football player.
