Kenneth Nash

Kenneth Nash is an American jazz percussionist, composer and producer.

Live and act

Nash's career began in the 1970s. Since then he has been on almost a hundred jazz recordings, mostly as a sideman, but also on his own albums. He played with jazz greats like Pharao Sanders , Art Pepper , Herbie Hancock , Dizzy Gillespie , Roy Haynes , Joe Henderson , Woody Herman and many others. Career highlights included a performance with Gene Ammons at the Montreux Jazz Festival and with Herbie Hancock at the Newport Jazz Festival . Nash was also a member of the Hancock band The Headhunters . He has toured Europe several times with Andy Narell . Since 2010 he has been a member of the band The Pyramids around the multi-instrumentalist Idris Ackamoor.

According to his own statements, his music is influenced by classical, Cuban and African music, jazz, pop, funk and hip-hop.

Nash has been running a recording studio and production company since 1981. His textbook RhythmsTalk has been published in several languages.
