Kenneth Taylor (philosopher)

Kenneth Allen Taylor (* 1954 in Sandusky , Ohio ; † December 2, 2019 ) was an American philosopher and professor at Stanford University .

Taylor studied at the University of Notre Dame until 1977 and received his doctorate in 1984 from the University of Chicago with Leonard Linsky (1922–2012). He then worked at Rutgers University , the University of Maryland at College Park , Wesleyan University , the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Middlebury College .

His research interests were in the areas of philosophy of language and philosophy of mind . Among other things, he focused on the topics of semantics, reference, naturalism and relativism.
