Kenta Nagasawa

Kenta Nagasawa ( Japanese 長 澤 憲 大 , Nagasawa Kenta ; * December 8, 1993 ) is a Japanese judoka who was third in the 2018 World Championship.

Athletic career

Kenta Nagasawa fights in the middleweight division, the weight class up to 90 kilograms. He won a bronze medal at the Universiade 2015 in Gwangju. Shortly afterwards he won a Grand Prix tournament for the first time in Qingdao. In May 2017 Nagasawa won the Grand Slam in Yekaterinburg . At the end of the year he won the Grand Slam tournament in Tokyo .

In April 2018, Nagasawa won the Japanese Championships, defeating Mashu Baker in the final . At the 2018 World Championships in Baku, he lost to Cuban Iván Felipe Silva in the quarter-finals . Nagasawa won a bronze medal with victories over the Tajiks Komronshokh Ustopiriyon and the Hungarians Krisztián Tóth .

In 2019 Nagasawa again reached the final of the Japanese Championships and then lost to Shoichiro Mukai . In early 2020 Nagasawa lost to the Spaniard Nikoloz Sherazadishvili in the final of the Grand Slam tournament in Paris .
