history

From July 7th to 24th, 1920, the World Zionist Congress took place in London . At this congress, Keren Hayesod was officially founded on December 24, 1920. The adopted resolution called on the Jewish people, the Zionists as well as the non-Zionists to contribute to the construction of the Land of Israel with the help of Keren Hayesod. Jewish communities around the world have proclaimed their own collection campaigns under the auspices of Keren Hayesod, often using local names (UIA, UJIA, IUA, CJA, AUJF).

By agreement with the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), Keren Hayesod is one of the three founders (together with the World Zionist Organization and the United Israel Action in North America, a subsidiary of the Jewish Federation North America) and represents 20% of the representatives of the Board of Trustees and Assembly . Keren Hayesod also has four seats on the Jewish Agency's Board of Trustees.
