Kerry-Jayne Wilson is a New Zealand biologist and Professor Emeritus of Ecology at Lincoln University in the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences .

Wilson has worked on various conservation issues in New Zealand for over 40 years, with a focus on New Zealand's avifauna . Wilson primarily studied seabirds in Antarctica, Mongolia, Malaysia, Newfoundland , Indonesia and the Cook Islands . In 2009 she retired after teaching ecology at Lincoln University for 23 years.

Kerry-Jayne Wilson is New Zealand's Ambassador to the Australasian Seabird Group, she was President of the Ornithological Society of New Zealand (OSNZ) and contributes to the State of New Zealand Birds Report . In 2012 she gave an open lecture on ecology and species protection in New Zealand at the Georg-August University in Göttingen .

In 2012 she received the Robert Falla Memorial Award from the OSNZ for her services in the field of ornithology and many years of service to society.

Publications

Wilson published 60 professional articles and two books. Her most important works include u. a. Flight of the huia  : ecology and conservation of New Zealand's frogs, reptiles, birds and mammals , a book that deals with the topic of species protection in New Zealand.
