Mary Kerry Kennedy (born September 8, 1959 in Washington, DC ) is the seventh of the eleven children of Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Kennedy .

Kennedy received a Juris Doctor from Boston College .

She has been a human rights activist since 1981. Among other things, she founded the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights in 1988 , was Executive Director of the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial and works for Amnesty International .

Private life

Kerry Kennedy was married to Andrew Cuomo , the governor of New York , for 13 years . The marriage, which was divorced in 2005, has three daughters.
