Kerstin Pohl

Kerstin Pohl (* 1967 in Bochum ) is a German political didactic. She is a university professor in the field of "Didactics of Political Education" at the Institute for Political Science at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

biography

Kerstin Pohl studied political science and biology for teaching at grammar schools at the Free University of Berlin . After her first state examination, she worked from 1998 to 2004 as a research assistant and from 2010 to 2011 as a teacher for special tasks in the field of social studies / didactics of politics at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at the Free University of Berlin. After completing her legal clerkship, she worked as a teacher in Berlin until 2010. In 2011 she was awarded a thesis on “Social Theory in Political Didactics. The theory reception with Hermann Giesecke ”at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science. For this work, Kerstin Pohl was awarded the Ursula Buch Prize (dissertation prize of the Society for Political Didactics and Political Youth and Adult Education).

In the 2011/2012 winter semester, Kerstin Pohl was professor for the didactics of political education at the Leibniz University of Hanover and from February to August 2012 she was a research assistant at the Georg Eckert Institute, Leibniz Institute for International Textbook Research in Braunschweig. Since September 2012 she has been professor for didactics of political education at the Institute for Political Science at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

Kerstin Pohl is a member of the spokesperson for the Society for Political Didactics and Political Youth and Adult Education (GPJE) and a member of the German Association for Political Science (DVPW) as well as a member of the state board of the Rhineland-Palatinate regional association of the German Association for Political Education (DVPB).
