Kettenheim (Vettweiß)
Kettenheim is a hamlet near Vettweiß in the Düren district , but not a separate district. The place has a few farms and is quite rural. Kettenheim has 103 inhabitants.
The place was first mentioned in a document dated May 23, 1072, when Archbishop Anno II of Cologne donated the tithe of his court to Wisse (Vettweiß) and Kathinheim (Kettenheim) to the Abbey of Groß St. Martin .
In 1172 a castle is mentioned in Katinheim (Kettenheim), which was a fief of the Archbishopric of Cologne until the 14th century .
Since the 19th century, Kettenheim was a municipality in the mayor's office of Froitzheim in the Düren district . In 1910, Kettenheim had 104 inhabitants. On October 1, 1932, Kettenheim was incorporated into Vettweiß.
The Jewish cemetery in Kettenheim is in the field markings .
