Kevenich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The desert of Kevenich , also called Kevenicher Hof, was located between Ruwer and Kenn near what is now the Am Kevenicher Berg district .

In 1284, goods on the Moselle in Pfalzel opposite the Kevenich wine press house are listed in the inventory of the Abbey of Sankt Maximin zu Trier ; the time when the farm was built is uncertain. It was assumed that the farm was built on the remains of Roman settlements.

One can no longer understand this today, as the Kevenicher Berg was partly removed in 1968. The reason was the construction work for the new federal highway 52 ( Trier-Ehrang - Hermeskeil ) and its junctions (Kenner Kleeblatt) to the federal highway 602 .

In 1706 there was a border mark, called Willstein, in the Kewenicher Hof, which separated the St. Maximiner estate of Kenn and the St. Pauline estate of Ruwer.
