life and career
Kevin Fowler was born in 1966 in Amarillo, Texas, the younger of two children, and grew up in that same city. At first he began to play both drums and piano. At the age of 20 he went to Los Angeles to study music. In 1990 he returned to Texas and from then on lived in Austin , where he joined the hard rock band Dangerous Toys, which had existed since 1987. After the time in the band, in which he was never involved in studio recordings, but only went on tour with the other band members, he founded the southern rock group Thunderfoot together with Kris Robbins in the mid-1990s .
Fowler released his first solo albums in 2000. Beer, Bait & Ammo , released in 2000, sells about 30,000 times in Texas. Mark Chesnutt made the title song part of his program. The musician also entered the country charts for the first time in 2002 with the album High on the Hog . In the same year he had his first live CD with Live at Billy Bob's Texas . His follow-up works could continuously increase commercially. In 2004 one of his songs was placed in the genre charts for the first time. He hit the Billboard 200 for the first time that same year with Loose, Loud & Crazy . In December 2010 a best of album was released with the most successful songs from Fowler's ten-year solo career.
After Fowler's label at the time, Equity Music Group , ceased operations in 2008, it was announced in early 2010 that Fowler had signed a contract with Lyric Street Records . There he should make his final breakthrough. However, these plans failed because the label was closed shortly afterwards. Then Fowler moved to the Disney Music Group .
Fowler is married and has three daughters.
