Kevin Haigen

Kevin Haigen (born November 6, 1954 ) is an American dancer and dance teacher who has worked in Europe since 1976.

Career

Haigen studied at the American Ballet School. Before joining the Hamburg Ballet in 1976 , he danced at the American Ballet Theater . In Hamburg he became first soloist with John Neumeier in 1977, and for him Neumeier also created the title role in Josephs Legende ( Wiener Staatsoper 1977). He also worked at the Nederlands Dans Theater , the Ballets de Monte-Carlo (both as a dancer, ballet master and choreographer), at the English National Ballet and finally from 1988 to 1991 at the Béjart Ballet Lausanne . In 1991 Haigen returned to the Hamburg Ballet as a ballet master and as a teacher at the ballet school. In 2006 he was promoted to principal ballet master. Haigen is also often invited as a guest teacher.
