Kevin Thomas Kelly

Kevin Thomas Kelly (born 1910 in Melbourne ; † 1994 ) was an Australian diplomat and Roman Catholic activist.

Life

In 1934, the radio program 3AW in Melbourne included a Catholic Hour in which , in addition to BA Santamaria , Kevin Thomas Kelly also preached.

In the same year Kevin Thomas Kelly founded a local chapter of the Catholic Evidence Guild in Melbourne . On the banks of the Yarra River east of Princes Bridge in Melbourne there was a forum similar to Speakers' Corner , where Kevin Thomas Kelly competed with other preachers. He was a young lawyer , Australian Labor Party activist , personal friend of James Scullin and Bert Cremean, and was an influencer of the Campion Society . Kevin Thomas Kelly and Stanley Ingwerson acted as agent provocateurs at meetings of peace groups and in Labor clubs and kept in touch with the Christian Youth Workers of Joseph Cardijn . During World War II , Kelly was employed by the British Naval Intelligence Department .

In 1962 he was Minister Counselor in New Delhi under High Commissioner Walter Crocker .

From January 11, 1964 to 1966, he was ambassador to Buenos Aires . From October 2, 1970 to 1974 he was ambassador to Lisbon in the Estado Novo (Portugal) .
