Key sampling

Under Keysampling refers to the use of individual music or speech fragments which, for a computer. B. via a connected keyboard , can be played as a scale . So z. B. play individual word elements as a melody. From a technical point of view, the corresponding tone fragment is adapted to the main tones by changing the pitch .

This technique is particularly used in megamixes . Another characteristic of key sampling are the intros of the deep dance bootlegs by DJ Deep .

In the Megamix bootleg scene, the insertion of samples , which are converted into key samples by loops and / or changing the pitch, is widespread.

The Danish bootleg mixer DJ Base has created a megamix called 'Keysampling - Stereo Version', in which many of these techniques are used.
