License plate from Honduras

The current license plates in Honduras were introduced in 1999 and correspond in their form to the US standard size, as it is used in most of the states of Central and South America .

The license plates have a white background and black text. In the background is the outline of the country, which, like the edge of the sign, has a different color depending on the type of vehicle. The actual combination consists of a letter that defines the type of vehicle in more detail, two consecutive serial letters and a four-digit number. Above the embossing, each sign shows the Spanish-language slogan Cuidemos los Bosques (something like: Let's take care of the forests), at the bottom is the word HONDURAS, CA , where CA stands for Centro América ( Central America ). The Spanish letter Ñ can also appear on Honduran license plates . The signs are issued by the Secretaría de Obras Públicas, Transporte y Vivienda (SOPTRAVI).
