Khampagar monastery

The Khampagar Monastery or Phüntshog Chökhor Ling is a monastery of the Drugpa-Kagyu - one of the so-called "eight small schools" of the Kagyu school tradition - of Tibetan Buddhism in the Lhathog region , one of the five former independent kingdoms of Kham . It is located in today's Karub district . The monastery is the seat of the incarnation line of the Khamtrül Rinpoches . The monastery was founded by the 3rd Khamtrül Rinpoche Ngawang Künga Tendzin (1680-1728) under the patronage of the local ruler Og Lhathog .
