Khanewal (Urdu: بُخانیوال) is the capital of the Khanewal district in Punjab Province in Pakistan . It is an important railway junction in the center of the Punjab Province.
history
Historically, Khanewal is a relatively modern city, the earliest foundation of which was laid by the British Empire due to its importance as a railroad hub. The city was a junction of the Khanewal - Wazirabad railway line and provided a connection from Lahore to the city of Karachi .
