Khufu Corrie

The Khufu Corrie is an approximately 2.5 km² mountain basin on the east side of Alexander I Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies between Drune Hill in the north and Khufu Peak in the south .

In scientific reports from the early 1960s, it is named as Fossil Bluff Glacier , based on the name of the nearby Fossil Bluff . Today it is sometimes recorded as Moraine Corrie (English for moraine basin ) or Moraine Corrie Valley (English for moraine basin valley ). Its established name is based on the naming of the Khufu Peak, whose namesake is the Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu (better known in German-speaking countries as Cheops , ruled from 2620 to 2580 BC), who had the pyramid named after him built.
