The Drune Hill is a round and 680 m high mountain with a flattened peak in the east of the West Antarctic Alexander Island . At Fossil Bluff it rises 800 m northeast of the Pearce Dome and at the same distance north of Khufu Peak , from which it is separated by the Khufu Corrie .
The naming was apparently made by scientists who were active in this area, and has been established since then. The further naming background is unknown. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee confirmed this designation on April 23, 1998. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names followed suit in 1999.
