Kielchen (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kielchen companies, some also goblets , Kilchen , Kilkchen or Külchen , is the name of one or more Baltic - Russian noble families .

history

Since the 17th century, namesake appeared in several tribes in the Baltic States that had not yet been reconciled to a common lineage . On the one hand, a descent from a Swiss family of the same name from Bern is not excluded, on the other hand, a presumed Irish or Scottish descent as religious refugees at the time of Jacob II is postulated.

It cannot be ruled out that the families are different, not related, but only with families of the same name, which also appeared at the same time in the Baltic states, including St. Petersburg .

Individual members of the family owned the Estonian estates Taifer and Tarwast , as well as Borislavl in the district of Zaraisk and Dornatschi in the district of Dankow .

Many sons served as officers in the Imperial Russian Army .
