Kieseritzky coat of arms

Kieseritzky is the name of a German-Baltic noble family.

history

The family probably came to Livonia in the 17th century . A connection to the Polish original noble family Kizierycki or to the coat of arms of the Saxon noble family von Koseritz has been considered, but could not be proven. In 1688 Jürgen Kieseritzky owned a house in Wolmar ( Valmiera ) near the town hall. His three sons Ludolph, Georg and Heinrich are considered to be the progenitors of the lineage of the family. In the 18th century they mostly worked as estate managers. Otto Kieseritzky was the first of the family to study law at the University of Dorpat . In the 19th century, many members of the family were active in the Imperial Russian civil service. The Kreisfiskal Georg (von) Kieseritzky (1821-1891) received in 1865 through Ukas the recognition of the nobility of his family branch. Another branch was located in Riga from 1786 .

During the First World War, Sylvia von Kieseritzky, b. Rosenthal, to Sweden with her children . In Sweden the sex belongs to the non-introduced nobility ( Ointroducerad adel ) and there are descendants to this day, also in Germany, the USA and Greece.
