The men's 5000 meter run at the European Athletics Championships in 1962 was held on September 13 and 15, 1962 in Belgrade's Partizan Stadium .
British Bruce Tulloh became European champion . Kazimierz Zimny from Poland took second place , as he did at the 1958 European Championships . Bronze went to the Soviet Olympic champion from 1960 over 10,000 meters Pyotr Bolotnikow , who had become European champion over 10,000 meters here three days earlier.
