The Kiessee is located in the municipality of Krugsdorf in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (before the district reform in 2011, it was still the district of Uecker-Randow ).
It is a residual lake of the former gravel construction and has an area of 0.45 km² with an average depth of 5.36 m. The bathing water quality of the lake is measured regularly and is classified as excellent.
Today the lake with its sandy beach is mainly used by bathers and divers. It offers a varied soil profile and dense vegetation under the water surface. There is a campsite by the lake.
