Kilclooney More 2
The portal Tomb of Kilclooney More 2 (also Dg. 70 or Kilclooney More West ( Irish called Cill Chluanadh Mhór )) is about eight meters west of the much larger portal Tombs Kilclooney More 1 , northwest of Ardara in County Donegal in Ireland . In the British Isles, portal tombs are megalithic systems in which two equally high, upright stones with a door stone in between form the front of a chamber, which is covered with a sometimes huge capstone.
The smaller portal Tomb still has almost all of its stones, but the capstone has fallen. It is believed that a cairn of which traces have been preserved covered both megalithic structures . A modern field wall separates the two systems. During excavations, fragments of Neolithic pottery were found.
Nearby is the relatively well-preserved Court Tomb of Kilclooney to the west .
