main features

Kile is very similar to Kate and offers almost all functions of the same plus the TeX-specific extensions. Kile makes it easy to edit multiple documents, e.g. B. Main document and BibTeX database or several parts of a LaTeX document, side by side using tabs and the view of the files belonging to the project. Kile has its own buttons for compiling the documents, and any BibTeX databases that may be present are also compiled - it only takes one click to compile the entire project. The LaTeX-IDE supports syntax highlighting of LaTeX / BibTeX / TeX as well as all languages that are also supported by Kate, including exotic ones like TI-Basic or Wesnoth Markup Language . In addition, Kile completes LaTeX commands and offers a graphic selection of special characters (also from AMS packages) to be inserted as LaTeX commands in the source text. A spell check can be configured. Kile also offers help for beginners and inexperienced users by enabling the graphical creation of tables and other structures. Finally, Kile also offers code folding and graphical display of the LaTeX structure of the current document.
