Kilkelly
Kilkelly ( Irish Cill Cheallaigh ) is a village in Ireland . It is located in the west of County Mayo in the province of Connacht , about 10 kilometers southwest of the city of Swinford and 10 kilometers south of Ballyglass . The village has 389 inhabitants (as of 2006).

Kilkelly became known worldwide through the songwriter Peter Jones. When Jones found letters from his great-great-grandfather to his great-grandfather John Hunt, who emigrated to America in 1855 , he processed the contents of the letters in the ballad Kilkelly, Ireland . With this, Jones paints a picture of Irish life in the 19th century.
