Killarney Station is a livestock farm in Northern Territorys in Australia . The property in the Victoria Daly Shire Local Government Area is located approximately 150 kilometers southeast of Timber Creek and 430 kilometers south of Darwin, respectively . It lies between the Victoria River in the west and the Buntine Highway in the east, north of Top Springs .

Killarney Station was established in 1953 over an area of ​​nearly 3,000 square kilometers. The land formerly belonged to Victoria River Downs Station , which was once the largest cattle ranch in the world and still exists today on a reduced area.

In the 1960s it passed to new owners. In 2011 the Eigenütmer had to file for bankruptcy. The property was operated together with the neighboring Birrimba Station , which together covered an area of ​​5,515 square kilometers. It was home to a herd of 41,000 Brahmin cattle that had been kept on the farm since the 1980s. In 2014 Killarney was for 35 million AUD to the Jumbuck Pastoral Company sells. At that time the cattle ranch took up an area of ​​2819 km². 50,000 animals were kept, including 20,000 Brahman cattle.

The operators write that the farm has an area of ​​5414 square kilometers in 2019. 40,000 Brahman cattle are kept. Twenty people work on the farm using helicopters and horses to round up the cattle.

Most of Birrimba and a small part of Killarney were destroyed by a brush fire in 2014 .
