Kim Byung-soo (born November 24, 1970 ) is a former South Korean soccer player who last played for Ōita Trinita . He is under contract as the coach of Gangwon FC .

Career as a player

Adolescence

Kim Byung-soo attended Gyeongshin High School from 1985 to 1987 . From 1988 to 1991 he studied at Korea University .

Football career in South Korea

Kim Byung-soo joined Jeil Bank FC in 1992 and stayed there until the end of the year. In 1993 he moved to the Japanese soccer club Cosmo Oil Yokkaichi FC . He stayed there until 1996. Then he moved to Ōita Trinita for a year . At the end of 1997, he ended his football career after five years and became a coach.

Career in the national team

Kim Byung-soo played in 1987 for the U-17 , from 1991 to 1992 for the U-23 and from 1989 to 1992 for the South Korean national football team .

Career as a coach

He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Korea University . He stayed there for only half a year before moving to the Pohang Steelers' youth academy that same year. There he also became an assistant coach. He stayed until 2002, after which he became the second assistant coach of the first team until 2004. From 2005 to 2006 he was an assistant trainer. In 2007 he became the technical director of Pohang Steelers . In 2008 he went to Yeungnam University , where he became a trainer. There he led the youth team through the U-League for eight years . In 2017, the coach of Seoul E-Land FC Park Kun-ha suddenly resigned, Kim Byung-soo succeeded him.
