Kim Dong-choon (* 1959 in Yeongju , South Korea ) is Professor of Sociology at the Sung Kong Hoe University in Seoul .

Life

In addition to his work as a professor, in which he focuses on the sociology of history, Kim Dong-choon is a member of the standing committee of the Commission for Truth and Reconciliation ( Kor. 진실 화해 를 위한 과거사 정리 위원회 ). For his book The Korean War and Society , he conducted numerous interviews with contemporary witnesses. This gave him a perspective on the Korean War , which, in contrast to the previous representation in South Korea , ascribes responsibility for the outbreak of war and for war crimes not only to North Korea but to both Korean states.
