Kim Hong-hee

Kim Hong-hee (* 1948 ) is a Korean art historian , art critic , curator and museum director.

life and work

Kim Hong-hee received his Bachelor at the Ewha Womans University for French literature . After completing her Masters in Art History from Concordia University in Canada , she did her PhD at Hongik University in Seoul .

She was director of the Samzie Space cultural center from 1989 to 2008 and of the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art from 2006 to 2010 . She was commissioned in 2000 for the Gwangju Biennale and in 2003 for the Biennale di Venezia . In 2006 she was artistic director of the Gwangju Biennale.

She is currently director of the Seoul Museum of Art and a member of the selection committee for documenta 14, which will take place in 2017 .
