Kim Lundgren

Kim Shearer Lundgren (born June 29, 1942 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American pilot and founder of the airline Air Berlin .

He is the son of Leonard and Evelyn Lundgren from Camp Sherman , Oregon. His father owned the Lelco company in the wood industry. Kim Lundgren was initially a pilot at Pan Am . He founded his first aviation company in 1978 as a subsidiary of Lelco. It was renamed Air Berlin Inc. in 1982 and Lundair Inc. in 1992. In 1991 Lundgren founded Air Berlin together with Joachim Hunold . The company filed for bankruptcy on August 15, 2017, which was opened on November 1, 2017.
