Judith Estrin

Judith Estrin (* 1954 ) is an American entrepreneur and internet pioneer. It is assigned a key role in the development of the Internet. It was part of the first Stanford research project by Vint Cerf which developed the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) . She is currently the CEO of JLabs.

education

Estrin earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1977 .

At Stanford she was part of a research group led by Vint Cerf that dealt with TCP / IP.

Career

After Stanford, she worked at Zilog where she worked on microprocessors and led a research team that developed one of the first commercial LAN systems , Z-Net.

She chaired several tech companies, some of which she founded herself.

Awards

  • She was named three times on Forbes' 50 Most Influential Women in American Business.
  • 2010: "Growth, Innovation and Leadership Award" from Frost & Sullivan
