Kim Yale

Kimberly "Kim" Yale (born November 22, 1953 , † March 7, 1997 ) was an American comic book writer and publishing editor.

Life and work

Yale has worked as an editor and writer for US comic publishers Marvel Comics , DC Comics , First Comics, and WaRP Graphics since the 1970s . Her most frequent artistic partner was her husband, the author John Ostrander . Together with Yale worked on the series Suicide Squad and Manhunter , among other things , she also plotted guest editions of the series Legionnairs , Batman Chronicles , Deadshot and Elfquest .

Yale died of breast cancer in 1997. Since then, the Friends of Lulu organization has presented the Kimberly Yale Award in her memory , a prize for promising young female artists in the US comic industry.
